Privacy Policy

TrafficCount / Last updated: September 2, 2026

1. Who provides this app

TrafficCount (the "App") is provided by an independent developer ("we"). For questions about this policy, please contact us through the App's page on the Apple App Store.

2. What we collect

We collect no personal information whatsoever.

Counts, site names, settings and every other piece of data the App creates are stored only on your device. None of it is ever transmitted to us or to any third party.

3. How camera video is used

The camera feed is used only for the on-screen preview and to detect pedestrians in the moment.

Live counting stores no images of people at all. What is saved is numbers and text: the time of each crossing, its direction, and the estimated attributes. The camera feed never leaves your device.

4. Photo library

Videos and photos to analyse are chosen through the standard iOS photo picker, which does not require the App to have read access to your library — only the file you pick is handed over. The App never reads your existing photos on its own.

When you analyse a video or photos, a thumbnail (the video's poster frame, or the first photo) is stored on your device, in the same local store as the per-crossing records for that survey, so the result appears in your history. If a person in that thumbnail is identifiable, the survey history containing it may constitute personal information (attribute data alone would not normally be personal information unless it can be easily cross-referenced with other data, but an identifying image changes that). Live counting stores no images at all, including no thumbnail. No thumbnail ever leaves your device.

5. Detection and estimation

Detection, tracking and the estimation of gender and age group all run entirely on your device, using Apple's Vision and Core ML frameworks together with a machine-learning model bundled inside the App. Images are never sent to any external service.

6. Location

The App does not access location services. The survey site name is text you type yourself and is stored only on your device.

7. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details or Apple ID. Entitlement is determined solely through StoreKit on your device.

8. Exported files

Excel and CSV files are produced on your device and are handed only to the recipient or app you choose when you share them. We never see their contents. What you do with an exported file is your responsibility.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not designed for children. However, because it collects no personal information, a user's age does not create any additional risk.

10. Deleting your data

Deleting the App removes every piece of data it stored on your device. We hold nothing on our side.

11. Privacy of the people being recorded

Although the App does not store video, the act of recording people in public may itself be regulated where you are. Whether you may record, and how you handle the records, is your responsibility under the laws and local rules that apply to you.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and revise the date above.
